THE GIFT OF CHOICE

Joshua 24:15 And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord; choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve.

One of the greatest gifts that the CREATOR has given us is the gift of choice. HE never forces anything on you. You have been given the right to choose which way your life will go. Yes HIS unconditional love will always steer you towards HIM, but you still choose on whether you will have relationship with HIM or not. All of our lives we will be making many choices; those choices will lead to the good, and the not so good consequences on our journey.

When my dad found out that biologically I was not his; he chose to still love me unconditionally as his daughter. He chose to not hold on to the anger that was attached to that season of his life. He chose to let go of the pain in his heart. He chose forgiveness instead of bitterness. Today even though my dad is in Heaven now; I chose to follow not only in his footsteps; which is the same footsteps of the CREATOR, but I chose to live.

So my encouragement for you today is: even though life will be difficult at times; making the right choices will always lead you down the right path for your life. The path that ultimately the CREATOR wants for you to take.

HIS PEACE

John 14:1 "Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.

Many times throughout life we will be faced with a troubled heart because of life situations. There is only one way to truly have a heart filled with peace, and that is to daily communicate with the CREATOR. Because of life changing issues; yesterday I woke up with a heavy heart. My dad's birthday is coming up, and since his passing my heart has had a empty spot. So I would like to share with you an example of how my heart was troubled this week, but then the CREATOR filled it.

So just this past Monday I was really missing my dad's voice. So I went to a text message that my nephew sent me and it was a seven second voicemail of my dad's voice. I listened to it and I started laughing because of what he said on it. It was in that moment that the CREATOR reminded me that my dad's soul is at peace, and then my heart became at peace again. There will be situations in life where we will feel sad, and heavy hearted but all we have to do is lean on the CREATOR and HE will see us through.

So my encouragement for you today is: no matter what life brings; allow the CREATOR to hold you close and lift your troubled and heavy heart; and in that embrace you will feel HIS unconditional love. His peace will flood your soul.

HE LEADS

Psalm 23:2 He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me besides still waters.

As I sat down to read this chapter; it was the end of this verse that really grabbed my attention. When I think about all of the twists and turns in life; I also think about turbulent waters, and calm waters. We all have those twists and turns, but how we handle those twists and turns is what's important. We can either react in a way that will be hurtful, or we can respond in a way that will show others the love of the CREATOR.

I will give you an example: when a particular person in my life lashed out at me; I choose to respond in a way that would show this person the love of the CREATOR, but most importantly my response showed my children that no matter who or what comes your way; if you allow the CREATOR to lead you in the right direction; that direction will ultimately lead you to those still waters in your life.

So my encouragement for you today is: each day when you wake up and you spend your alone time with the CREATOR; ask HIM to always lead you and guide you in your response to others so that your soul man can fully be lead to those peaceful waters. Its that peace that helps you to say " It is well with my soul".
